Benefits of volunteering

Volunteering is an enriching experience in so many ways.

When you become part of the SOS BC team, you have an opportunity to:

  • support a cause you truly believe in
  • apply your skills and learn some new ones
  • meet new people, make new friends and develop professional contacts
  • feel the personal satisfaction of helping others
  • make a difference in your own community

The rewards are as unique and personal as your reasons for wanting to volunteer. Honoring our volunteers Every day, volunteers across Canada devote countless time and effort to make our communities better places to live in. We say thank you in as many ways as we can. Each year outstanding SOS Children’s Village volunteers are recognized and honoured. We are proud to introduce you to some of our volunteer award recipients:

Lyle Green is our official ambassador. Keep your eyes open for him signing autographs at our events and helping out at the Village! Lyle Green, fullback for the BC Lions, volunteers for us. Why not you?!

LifeScan Canada donated a staff day to create the SOS Children’s Village BC Donor Garden during the United Way’s fall 2005 Day of Caring.

Discover your community spirit and help support foster children.

Whether it's planning events, yard maintenance, or simply helping out in the office, there are many ways you can help. A few hours a week, a few hours a month, any amount of your time would be greatly appreciated! All of it goes towards helping less fortunate children.

To volunteer, fill out our Volunteer Application Form or call 604.582.2990 to enquire.
